(02) 9199 8787 SUPPORT

Being locked out of your own website is one of the most stressful situations a business owner faces. Your site is live, customers are visiting, and you cannot log in to make changes, fix an error, or manage your content. Every minute counts.

At Australian Hosting Solutions, access recovery is handled directly on the phone. Our team has full access to your hosting environment and can restore access to cPanel, WordPress, FTP, and email accounts while you are on the call — no ticket queue, no waiting.

What Access Issues Does Australian Hosting Solutions Fix?

How Do I Recover Access to My WordPress Admin?

There are three ways to recover WordPress admin access without calling us — try these in order:

  1. Use the “Lost your password?” link on the WordPress login page — a reset link will be sent to your admin email address. If that email is also inaccessible, move to step 2.
  2. Reset via cPanel — log in to cPanel, navigate to phpMyAdmin, select your WordPress database, open the wp_users table, find your admin user, and update the user_pass field with a new MD5 hash. This requires technical confidence — if unsure, call us.
  3. Call us — we can reset your WordPress admin password directly from the server in under 2 minutes. Call (02) 9199 8787.

Why Has My Hosting Account Been Suspended?

Hosting accounts are suspended for one of four main reasons:

Payment Failure

Your hosting subscription payment failed and the account was automatically suspended after the grace period. Call us to update your payment details and restore access immediately.

Malware Detected

Our security systems detected malware or a hacked file on your account and suspended it to protect other users on the server. Call us for immediate malware removal and account restoration.

Resource Overuse

Your site exceeded its allocated CPU, memory, or bandwidth limits — often due to a traffic spike, runaway script, or database query. We can identify the cause and upgrade your plan if needed.

Spam Sending

A compromised email account or contact form on your site sent a high volume of spam, triggering an automatic suspension. We remove the spam source and restore your account.

In every case, call (02) 9199 8787 and we will identify the reason for suspension and restore your account as quickly as possible.

How Do I Know If My IP Has Been Blocked by the Server?

If you can access your website on mobile data (or from another network) but not from your office or home internet connection, your IP address has likely been blocked by the server’s firewall (CSF or ModSecurity). This commonly happens after multiple failed login attempts.

To confirm: visit your site on your phone with WiFi turned off (mobile data only). If the site loads on mobile data but not on your broadband connection, your IP is blocked. Call us with your IP address (find it at whatismyip.com) and we will unblock it immediately.

Frequently Asked Questions: Website Access Issues

I forgot my cPanel password. How do I reset it?

You can reset your cPanel password via the hosting account management portal if you have access to the registered email address. If you do not, call (02) 9199 8787 and we will verify your identity and reset the password immediately.

My WordPress login page is showing a blank white screen. What do I do?

A white screen on the WordPress login page is usually caused by a PHP error, a failed plugin update, or a memory limit exceeded. It is not necessarily a lockout. Call us and we will access your server logs, identify the cause, and restore the login page on the call.

I lost my phone with Google Authenticator and now I can’t log in to my hosting account. What do I do?

If two-factor authentication is enabled and you have lost access to your authenticator device, contact us on (02) 9199 8787. We will verify your identity through account ownership details and disable 2FA so you can log in and set it up again with your new device.

Why does my FTP client say “Connection refused” or “Connection timed out”?

FTP connection failures are most commonly caused by using the wrong port, having passive mode disabled, a firewall blocking FTP traffic, or an IP block on the server. Try switching to SFTP on port 22 instead of FTP on port 21. If that does not resolve it, call us.

How long does it take to restore a suspended hosting account?

For payment-related suspensions where payment is updated, restoration is typically within 15 minutes. For malware-related suspensions, restoration follows malware removal — which we handle on the call. Most accounts are restored within the same support call.

Can I access my website files if I am locked out of cPanel?

If you have FTP credentials, yes — you can connect directly via an FTP client like FileZilla without needing cPanel. If you are also locked out of FTP, call us and we can restore both cPanel and FTP access simultaneously.

Locked out?

We restore access on the call. Right now.
